During my travels I have gradually picked up an interest in photography. While I’ll never be even close to a professional photographer (or even close to the standard of say the pictures on javajive for example), I do have a couple that are better than others and, since they say a picture says a thousand words, I figured I may as well save myself some typing on my blog page by showing some of my preferred shots.
My goal is to capture the culture and people of the place I’m in. I usually shoot with a Nikon F60, F65 or FE camera (yup, still in the film age, but to be honest I prefer it) with either a Kiron 28-85mm or a Sigma 28-200mm f/3.5 zoom lens (I also have a 70-300mm Nikon zoom lens, but it’s bigger and not so convenient for carrying around). I also have a compact Nikon S500 digital camera, which I usually use with friends etc. but occasionally also for more serious photography, simply because of its portability and for the fact that I can see the picture straight away.
Anyway, that’s enough blabble, here’s some of my work – I have included a taster below, but it turns out that combining a text blog and a photo blog is a little difficult, so for more pictures and better quality, please head over to my dedicated photoblog at Photos from That Place Called Home.
